What is a workout at The Fitness Connection like?
If you have never had the experience of being in a fitness facility/gym environment or perhaps if it has been decades since you have, please allow me to paint a scenario so as to ease your possible worries, concerns or apprehensions. The Fitness Connection has a warm, supportive, energetic atmosphere that makes those who enter feel immediately safe. We are a highly qualified team of certified fitness professionals who adore our work. We range in age from 32-63 years old. Our clientele are equally varied in age, shape, size, physical fitness levels and although we cater to both men and women we do have a higher concentration of women. A typical workout is rather difficult to depict simply because the programs that we design are truly unique to each individual and depend exclusively on what their goals and needs are. However, I will give you a general sense.

The first order of business is to prepare your body for its workout so we always begin with some form of a warm-up. You may spend 6-10 minutes walking on the treadmill, bicycling, using the gliders, the elliptical or just dancing around the gym with your Trainer to warm up. Then it’s onto the main body of your program, which usually lasts 40-50 minutes. Likely you will start with weight training using dumb bells, stacked weight training machines or the use of free weight equipment. You are clearly instructed as to each piece of equipments proper use, keeping you safe and developing correctly. Balance moves such as performing an arm exercise while seated on a Resist-a-Ball, as an example, are common. Balance is often an integral part of regaining optimal fitness. Strengthening the abdominal section is part of the workout due to the importance of the spinal support that is derived from that area being strong.

Typically we will provide a full body workout careful to balance your needs and desires with that which we have determined to be vital for your overall well being. Finally, we will take you through a series of stretches geared specifically to you and the areas of your body that need lengthening. Each workout is one hour in length and we pride ourselves on your leaving each and every time feeling successful and accomplished.
